IDF Converter

I wrote this program to test out the latest theory in IDFs. Arrpa83 started a thread on InsaneHeat to discuss the idea that the IDFs don't actually need all the data packaged in them. Instead he said that the map IDFs only need the .scn files and the vehicles only need the .vht files packaged in the IFD itself. The rest of the files that are normally contained within the IDF can be placed in a folder with the same name and placed in the corresponding \Data\ folder.

In other words the pico.idf needs only contain the pico.vht. The rest of the files can be placed in \Insane\Data\Vehicles\pico. This is exactly how we have always added skins!

This program automates the process of backing up your original IDFs, unpacking the IDFs, repacking to the new smaller size, and copying the small IDF along with the new 'parts' folder into your working game folder. It runs through the files in batch, so just a few mouse clicks to point the way and IDF converter will run through 100 IDFs in about 4 or 5 minutes!

After we have tested the converted files a bunch it seems that there are only a couple issues. If you have a lot of vehicles loaded you will likey see errors in the vehicle images when sitting in the game lobby, vehicles are fine in game! Some people have had files missing after conversion. It seems that most who have issues have very slow computers.

After having walked a few people through using the original version I found there were a few things that I could change that would make IDF Converter a little more user friendly and hopefully more dummy proof as well! So, I have reworked most of the functions and even had fun making all new graphics! This new version is now ready for downloading!

A couple small visual tweaks were added since 1.1 along with some helpful tooltips.
